I've been running around like a crazy person the last few weeks trying to get ready for Christmas... buying gifts for all the kids & family, filling orders for Ebay, baking, parties, deadlines, late nights... AARRGH!! So yesterday I took the 3 little ones to Walmart for last minute stuff, fighting traffic, ready to prounce on the next open parking spot... and I thought to myself "where the heck is the true meaning of Christmas in all of this?" So I finished shopping and I was walking towards the exit when I noticed an older man sitting on the bench inside the entrance with an envelope in his hand. He reached out to a younger, modestly dressed man who was walking by him and handed him something and said "Merry Christmas". It was a $20 bill. The younger man said "Are you serious", and the older man said "Yes, Merry Christmas", and the younger man thanked him and walked on smiling. I was fascinated, I pulled my cart over to the opposite side of the entry and fiddled with my purse and the kids while I watched him out of the corner of my eye, handing out bills to unsuspecting yet very grateful shoppers leaving the store. Then he got up and walked over to me and asked, smiling "Where did you get those beautiful children?" I smiled back and thanked him and he pulled a $50 bill out of his envelope and handed it to me saying, "Merry Christmas". I said "Sir, I don't need 50 dollars" in a thankful tone that suggested that he could find someone else who needed it. He said, "Well then, find someone who does, Merry Christmas", and he left smiling as I thanked him. I thought hard about it walking to the car, what a kind man he was, and how many people he helped out that day. He was discreet, you would really have to be paying attention to notice what he was doing, and you could tell he truly enjoyed meeting those people he was helping, if only for a brief moment. But why did he choose me? We were all dressed nicely to go to a party later, so I was a bit confused. As I thought about it I realized that he had possibly helped me more than he helped anyone else that day, because that was the first time I had felt the Christmas spirit all season. So I'll pay it forward, and I'll find someone who needs that $50, and meanwhile, I found time to read my scriptures, and tell my kids about love, and charity, and kindness, and about Christ, and I finally feel the peace that the Christmas season can bring. Merry Christmas everyone!

Portrait time!
Even though I'm married to a professional photographer, I take the little kids to Kiddie Kandids where they have all the fun props and backgrounds. Kelly encourages this because his forte is wedding photography and taking kid pics drives him nuts!

Celebrity Look Alike's by My Heritage
Oh my gosh... this is the funniest thing ever. I wasted entirely too much time on this today and I have to share it with you. I would've posted this on my Facebook page, but Tyler would have seen it and he would freak out. We both thought it was funny, but I was so amused, I'm still laughing!
Tyler's is the funniest by far...
Lynden's cracked me up as well...
Niel's... pretty funny too...
William... I can see it...
Here's Ashley's... It's a guy, but he's cute! (was cute)
I think Brianna is a bit too young to find an accurate match...
Kelly's is a good one of course...
Okay... just to be fair, here's mine...
Then, I used a picture of me 9 years ago before I met Kelly and had 3 kids...
So... that's just the "top" match, it also said I looked 68% like Lionel Ritchie... WHAT?!
Finally, here's Kelly's high school senior year pic match...
I did that one just because its my blog and I can... What's not fair is that he gets matched with Superman and I get Lionel Ritchie?! He has a FRO & FACIAL HAIR!
Anyway... like I said, I wasted entirely too much time on this today!

Lynden
The other day Lynden disappeared, as he has in the past... Kelly & Tyler were gone, but the rest of us looked for him everywhere. We checked all his usual hiding spots, including the pantry, where he's been known to hide and sneak treats and play in the flour. Then we starting checking every closet, under beds, in showers, the entire backyard... etc. After about 20 minutes I noticed that the garage door was open and soon we were scouring the neighborhood with the help of our neighbors. Just as the police were arriving to help in the search, Niels found him underneath a tiny decorator table eating lemonade mix! The little booger just sat under there eating handfuls of lemonade powder while we desperately looked for him and called him repeatedly! We were all relieved and I think the whole experience took about 5 years off my life!

I signed up on Facebook to monitor Tyler and now I'm hooked! It's fun! It's like blogging, but more interactive! I even found several friends from high school I haven't talked to in 20 years! That was way fun! So look for me on Facebook if you find yourself there! ANYWAY... I can't post this video on Facebook so I'm posting it here. It was made by the Catholic church and it hits home, it's worth watching so take a moment...

Labor Day in Pinedale
It was great to get away to Pinedale last weekend! It rained and rained and I loved it! On Saturday we went to the Taylor Corn Festival for awhile and here's Tyler on the velcro wall:
